1 La Jolla Farms

La Jolla Farms is about 200 acres located on the Northern boundary adjacent to Torrey Pines State Park which recently celebrated it's 100 year anniversary.

On one side is UCSD and on the other the ocean. The Farms originally had an equestrian flavor, but is now best known for is large (make that huge) remodels.

The U shaped oceanfront residence build by the Black's - the original Farms developer, is now owned by UCSD and used as the Chancellor's home.

Beach: Blacks beach is very secluded, with difficult access because of the height of the sandstone bluffs. "Farms" residents have their own key to a private access gate. Well known for "optional clothing". Excellent surfing.

Torrey Pines Golf Course: The course is home to the annual Buick International. One of the few municipally owned courses on the PGA. Can be booked for a fairly modest fee.	Photo: Torrey Pines Golf Course

Homes: The "Farms" was subdivided in the 1950's with most of the homes built in the 70's and 80's.

Single family detached. La Jolla Farms Road is an exclusive neighborhood of about 100 expensive homes with lots ranging from 3/4's of an acre up to over 5 acres, almost all priced at $3,500,000 and up. Totally eclectic in style from ranch to contemporary, to Spanish and Italian renaissance.

There are small "pockets" of lesser priced homes.

Condos Blackhorse Farms (gated). Built in 1989 with 5 floor plans 2174 - 2975 sq ft prices from $800,000 to over $1,000,000.
