Homes:  there are about 1,000 homes and condos, plus a few apartment buildings.

Single family detached.

Mainly built in the 50's and 60's. Prices for a 2/3 bedroom 2 bath home near the beach from $1,250,000.

Most of the homes on the hill (Prestwick, Calle Del Oro etc) have superb views of La Jolla Cove and La Jolla Shores - expect to pay $3,000,000 and up.

Those immediately on the beach are multi million(s) dollar homes. The pretty streets adjacent to the beach, including El Paseo Grande, Paseo Del Ocaso etc are flat with a mix of beach cottages starting at around $1,200,000 up to newer custom homes in the $2,000,000 to $5,000,000 range. Those on the beach sell from $6,000,000 and up.

Condos.  A number of developments including one high rise - prices from around $400,000 for a small 1 bedroom unit up to about $1,750,000 for a 2 bedroom 2 bath with 1,400 sq ft. depending on the view.
