 6 Village

The "Village" is the oldest section of La Jolla dating back to 1888, originally settled by local San Diegans wanting a weekend cottage by the sea.

Now very popular with those that want easy access to all the delights that "downtown" La Jolla offers including: the excellent shops, the beaches, tide pools, the unbelievable variety (over 100) of the finest restaurants in California, Museum of Contemporary Art, etc. In addition there are some 40 art gallaries!

Beach: La Jolla  Cove - A small beautiful beach, tucked between towering sandstone cliffs, with tide pools and caves. Excellent swimming and diving. Ellen Browning Scripps Park is perfect for picnics.  Photo: La Jolla Cove

Children's Pool - A breakwater keeps the water here gentle, unfortunately, swimming and diving is prohibited due to pollution created by (delightful) seals.

Homes:  There are approx 2,000 homes, condos, and apartments in the Village area.

Single family detached: A diverse selection of homes built from the 20's onwards ranging from small 1,000 sq ft cottages ($850,000 +) up to impressive million(s) dollar mansions on the beach and everything in between.

Condos Quite a number of buildings to choose from. 2 bedroom 2 bath 1,100 sq ft units can be bought for $700,000 plus. If it's got a good ocean view it will be more expensive (at least $900,000)
